What bot? ............................... RAMBOT!

Once again, the Rambots proved to be very strong contenders in this top level group of 348 teams selected from the original 1,684 teams that started in this year’s FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition).

Even though we had some tough breaks in alliance pairings and penalties, our robot and team drivers and human player did an outstanding job of scoring points in every match. In fact, in at least 2 of our matches, we had the highest scoring robot of the 6 robots in the match. The Rambot was successful in completing every aspect of the game from autonomous positioning to delivering “moon rocks” and “empty cells” which are used to acquire the prized “super cells” for our alliance bonus points. Unfortunately, in the heat of battle, one of our alliance partners mistakenly scored the points against our own alliance which cost us the match. We also had 2 matches where our steering mechanism failed. We regrouped and repaired the problem finishing up with a strong couple of matches on Saturday morning. Despite our best efforts and strong game play, we were not chosen to compete in the finals along with the top 8 in our division. Our team did not go unnoticed, we received many favorable comments on our performance from many of the teams in our division and the competition.

Overall we should be very proud of our strong showing in this the top level of the FRC competition.

Great Job to all who participated!

A special Thank You to our school, sponsors, mentors, parents and students who made this possible!
