RI FIRST FTC Robotic Challenge

"To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes."

-Dean Kamen, Founder

The FIRST Challenge in Rhode Island is looking for technical professionals, educators, parents and all others interested in supporting robotics education for our students. Volunteer opportunities are available to work with all age brackets throughout the school year supporting innovation in our schools. RI FIRST is in need of volunteers to serve in a variety of roles to make the competitions run smoothly over the course of the school year.

FIRST in RI involves students from ages 6 years old to high school teams totaling over 800 students, each putting their robots to the test. The teams compete in a timed technical challenge against each other. The day is full of team energy, cheering for the robots and the excitement of coming down to the wire to determine the winner.
